Pack a Punch with Pulsar Plus

With the growing options of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment or EV chargers, we plan to help you find the best charging solution. In this blog, we break down the cutting-edge features of the Wallbox Pulsar Plus! Indoor and outdoor rated, you can transform your garage or outdoor parking area into a modern fueling station.

Design and charging capacity

With a compact design, RGB LED ring, and smooth glossy finish, the Pulsar Plus charger can transform any garage or outside area into a modern fueling station. You can get it in two color options, black and white. Measuring 7.8″x7.9″x3.9″, it sure packs a punch for its size!

With an adjustable charging capacity of 16A to 40A for NEMA 14-50 outlet or 48A hardwired maximum rated current, you can tailor the charge rate to meet your electrical situation. At 48A, you can charge your EV fast with a maximum power output of 11.5 kW; that’s about 30-35 miles charged per hour.

Hardware Features

The Pulsar Plus comes grounded, meaning that no additional ground rods are required to be installed on your property. With a 25-foot charging cable, you will be able to position your EV comfortably and still be able to reach your charging port.

Using the universal, barring Tesla, Type 1 SAE J1772 connector, the Pulsar Plus can cover all the EVs you may be considering and your friends. With built-in load balancing, the Pulsar Plus allows you to charge multiple EVs simultaneously by distributing power across connected chargers. Wallbox backs their UL 2594 listed Pulsar Plus EV charger with a 3-year warranty.

App overview

The Pulsar Plus has an intuitive and vibrant app that allows you to maximize the ease and convenience of charging from home. You can schedule the times you charge your EV by setting a charging window. Scheduling is crucial if your utility has a time-of-use rate, meaning that different times of the day will cost you different amounts for the electricity you use.

With Bluetooth and wi-fi connection options, your Pulsar Plus can easily update its firmware, allowing you to check in and control the charge status away from home.

Home Energy Management System: Electricity Usage

EV Chargers such as the Wallbox Pulsar Plus represent the usage aspect of our relationship with electricity, the others being generation and storage. EV charging from home means that you are going to be using electricity to charge your means of transportation. Your EV charger must be set up to meet your charging needs. This means assessing your drive time, electrical panel capacity, and budget, which we cover here on our EV charging page.

We decided to review the Pulsar Plus since it is a premium charger. It is designed to meet the EV charging needs of most homeowners in a small and efficient way that allows for expansion with it’s power sharing feature. This is especially important since EV charging locations can go outside, in the garage, or part of a parking complex. More product reviews are coming up, so stay tuned, and thanks for reading!
